Description: The CPL Regional Qualifier is part of the new Canadian Parkour League competition circuit. Regional qualifying events take place across the country and give athletes the opportunity to earn their place at CPL4, where top-performing athletes from each qualifier compete head-to-head. Athletes who reach the CPL4 podium earn the chance to advance to SPL5 (Sport Parkour League), the World Championships of parkour.
The Regional Qualifier we’re hosting will feature Skill, Speed, and Freestyle events, giving athletes multiple ways to showcase their abilities and compete for a place in the next stage of the league. Competitors who are familiar with our Athletes in Motion event will recognize similar formats and judging for each event, but due to the nature of fitting all events into the schedule, we will only be hosting one round for each event (i.e. open round for skill, one speed course with two attempts for speed, and one line with two attempts for freestyle).
Dates: Saturday April 11th, 2026.

EVENTS
SKILL
Skill events allow athletes to showcase their ability to complete parkour challenges. Athletes will be prompted to do this by completing challenges with limited attempts and under time constraints. All challenges must be completed with a stick landing for three seconds. The fastest athlete to complete all challenges in a round will receive one additional point.
Format – All competitors at once, jam style, completing challenges worth one point each. Athletes with the most points in the quickest time will podium.
SPEED
Speed events give athletes the opportunity to demonstrate how quickly they can navigate a preset course using their parkour skills. Athletes will have a small amount of practice time on the course before performing.
Format – This round will be made up of one speed course, where athletes will have two attempts to run the course. Their fastest time will be the time that is kept from their two attempts.
FREESTYLE
Freestyle events prompt athletes to create and connect their best acrobatic parkour skills into lines of movement that are performed on hard surfaces. Athletes will have time prior to the event to create combos and lines. Movements are judged on difficulty, execution and creativity.
Format – Athletes create and perform a line of 6+ sequential movements that are judged and scored. Athletes will get two attempts to perform their lines, and their highest score will be kept.
