Over the course of the CIT program, participants will focus on the same skills as they do in our regular parkour classes, but they will be learning about those skills from a coaching perspective to help them develop leadership skills related to concepts such as class management and behaviour management in a parkour context.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1574360005208{margin-bottom: 15px !important;}”]

Each module has a focus on different parkour skills and different coaching skills, and the modules can be completed in any order.

The CIT Modules are as follows:

  • Coaching Fundamentals
  • Recreational Parkour Contexts
  • Parkour Fundamentals
  • Custom Personalized Module

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]Shadowing: Upon the completion of any module, CIT Participants are eligible to shadow introductory parkour classes (Parent & Tot, Kids, Youth, and Freestyle 1), private lessons, as well as our March Break Camp and Summer Camp programs. During these hours CIT participants will complete the CIT shadowing workbook. Shadowing hours can also be used towards high school volunteer hours.

The minimum shadowing requirements for CIT completion are as follows:

  • 15 hours of programming for participants 3-8y
  • 10 hours of programming for participants 9-17y
  • 15 hours of camp programming

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]Completion: In order to complete the CIT Program and receive a certificate of completion, participants are required to complete all 4 of the CIT modules, attain a minimum of 40 shadowing hours as outlined above, including completion of the shadowing workbook, and pass a summative (written and practical) evaluation.

Post-Completion: After obtaining a certificate of completion, CIT participants are eligible to:

  • Volunteer for/shadow classes in our competitive stream (Advanced, Freestyle 2)
  • Volunteer for/shadow at off-site school information days
  • Continue their learning by being invited to Play Project staff training modules
  • Develop their parkour skills by being invited to coach-led parkour training sessions
  • Receive a 25% discount off the cost of private lessons
